This $45 million blue diamond should do the trick. All jokes aside, the world’s largest ever blue diamond is going up for auction on May 18th at Christie’s in Geneva. The stone — known as the Oppenheimer Blue, named after previous owned by Sir Philip Oppenheimer — is a massive 14.62 carats.
Its mammoth size is only part of the cost. It’s also all about color. Only 0.0001 percent of all diamonds that come out of the earth are blue. And this is one of them.
