Greg Nosal, an offensive lineman on the Virginia Tech football team, kept playing in a game against Central Michigan last Saturday despite the loss of the tip of his left pinkie finger.
The tip of his finger ripped off in the first half after it became wedged between two helmets. Doctors found the severed tip inside the glove Nosal had been wearing. They decided it could be reattached, but Nosal asked them to put it on ice so he could continue playing.
Nosal’s fingertip was reattached in the fourth quarter, after Virginia Tech had taken a large lead.
