Clean feet are better for stopping crime — at least that’s the thinking in the city of Duesseldorf, Germany. The city’s entire unit of police dogs will soon be outfitted with blue plastic fiber shoes.
The footwear is to protect the dogs from a high rate of paw injuries. Broken bottles have been especially harmful to the police canines.
Duesseldorf’s police dogs will begin wearing the special shoes this spring, but only for assignments that require special foot protection.
