A 5-foot long reptile roaming a California condo complex scared even the animal control officers called to corral it. A monstrous Monitor lizard was found in Riverside this week. Authorities used a long pole with a loop at the end to snag the lizard and force it into a truck meant for stray dogs. The animal remained calm at first, but then started hissing and thrashing.
The animal is most likely an escaped pet. Animal control wants the owner to come and claim their property soon.
