Scientists say a mountain lion killed June 11 in Connecticut had traveled all the way from South Dakota in previous months — a distance of almost 1,500 miles, which is twice as far as any previous recorded trek undertaken by a mountain lion.
A car struck the lion June 11 in Milford, Conn. DNA testing linked the lion to droppings, blood and hair found on the path from South Dakota to Connecticut. This was the first mountain lion sighting in Connecticut in 100 years.
