Nintendo announced today that it is dropping the price of its 3DS in the United States. The 3DS currently sells for $249.99, but that will change to $169.99 beginning Aug. 12.
More than 800,000 3DS systems have been purchased since the March 27 release date. As a thank you, Nintendo is offering original customers 20 free game downloads at the Nintendo eShop. The deadline to download is 11:59 p.m. Eastern, Aug. 11.
