The pudu deer is the world’s smallest deer species, found mostly in South America. Most adult deer weigh between 70 and 700 pounds, but this tony deer won’t exceed 20 pounds. It ranges in size from 13 to 17 inches tall and up to 33 inches long. Their size allows them to excel in climbing, jumping and sprinting. When a predator is around, the pudu barks, usually runs in a zig-zag pattern escape.
The deer in the video below was found orphaned in a small Chilean city, and is currently being nursed back to health by a veterinary team.
