In the February 2018 issue of Boys’ Life I promised readers a better look at the classic Feb. 22, 1980 Olympic Hockey victory between Team USA and the Soviet Union — who had won nearly every world championship and Olympic tournament since 1954.
After beating the Soviet Union, Team USA went on to win the gold medal by winning its last match over Finland. The game versus the Soviet Union has since been called the “Miracle on Ice,” and often ranks as one of America’s top sports moments of the 20th century.
