NASA’s Phoenix spacecraft successfully landed on Mars Sunday. The probe will begin a three-month search for water in the planet’s northern polar region.
Phoenix used electricity generated from solar panels for the 422-million mile flight from Earth to Mars. The spacecraft left home on Aug. 4, 2007.
