Hank Aaron set the all-time home run record on April 8, 1974. On that date, Aaron’s Atlanta Braves played a home game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. In front of 53,775 spectators, Aaron crushed an Al Downing pitch into the left field bullpen for his 715th career home run, breaking a record held by Babe Ruth.
Aaron finished his career with 755 home runs. In 2007, Barry Bonds passed Aaron on the all-time home run list.
