Austin Rehkow, kicker at Central Valley High in set a new high school state record, connecting on a 67-yard field goal on Oct. 18 in Spokane, Wash. Kicking from his team’s 43-yard line Rehkow had to make the lengthy kick to force overtime against his team’s biggest rival. The kick was also good enough to tie for second-best length in the country.
What’s even more impressive is that Rehkow says he had never made a field goal longer than 60 yards before. His kick was so long, that it is four yards longer than the longest NFL field goal of all time. What a feat!
