Baby monitor picks up NASA video

When a mom in Illinois turned on her baby monitor on Sunday, she didn’t see a video of her sleeping baby. Instead she saw astronauts moving around on the space shuttle Atlantis.

Somehow, Natalie Meilinger’s baby monitor was picking up NASA’s live video feed.

NASA doesn’t think she is receiving the signal directly from the space shuttle, but is probably picking up a rebroadcast of the feed from a local amateur radio operator.

In any case, Natalie and her husband are hooked as they’ve watched astronauts work on construction of the International Space Station.

Of course, you don’t need a baby monitor to watch the feed. Just go to www.nasa.gov and click on “Watch NASA TV.”
