The last known World War I combat veteran has died at the age of 110. Australian Claude “Chuckles” Choules lied about his age to join the Royal Navy in 1915. Serving on the HMS Revenge, he witnessed the Imperial German Navy’s surrender in November 1918.
Until his death, Claude was also the oldest man living in Australia. Family said a healthy lifestyle led to Claude’s long life.
