A motion-activated video camera snapped footage of the rare Javan rhinoceros late last year in an Indonesian national park. The World Wildlife Fund announced the images this week. No Javan rhinos currently live in captivity, and it’s estimated that only 40 of these critically endangered animals are alive in the wild.
President Theodore Roosevelt once encountered a rhinoceros. We wrote about it in our November 1918 issue. Click here to check it out.
