Peak named Mount Santa Claus

A mountain in the former Soviet republic of Kyrgyzstan is being renamed Mount Santa Claus to honor the jolly old elf.

Officials in Kyrgyzstan hope the mountain’s new name will increase tourism. The country also has mountains named after Soviet founder Vladimir Lenin and former Russian President Boris Yeltsin.
