The Atlantic Ocean filled with hundreds of adventuring New Yorkers on Tuesday. The swimmers braved 42-degree waters for the traditional New Year’s dip.
The Coney Island Polar Bears Club raised $30,000 in pledges for Camp Sunshine, a camp for seriously ill children and their families. Three hundred club members made the swim off Coney Island, while two-dozen more members swam at nearby Brighton Beach.
