Pythons have been known in recent years to ingest anything from an alligator to a pregnant sheep to an electric blanket.
Now, an Australian carpet python has sucked down four golf balls.
A couple living in New South Wales put golf balls in their chicken coop to coax a hen to lay eggs in a certain spot. A python with bumps in its stomach was soon found where the balls were located. The couple rushed the snake to veterinarian Michael Pyne, who surgically removed the objects. The operation saved the python’s life.
Some pythons can grow to 13 feet, but the golf ball eater was a mere 32 inches.
