NASA is accepting applications for astronaut candidates to go to the International Space Station, the moon and beyond.
According to the job posting, applicants must meet high physical standards and educational requirements, which include a college degree in engineering, math or science and at least three years of experience in one of these fields. Teaching experience is also considered to be qualifying experience.
Candidates may be required to do extensive travel on Earth and in space. Possible destinations may include Texas, Florida, California, Russia, Kazakhstan, the International Space Station and the moon.
You have until July 1, 2008, to apply. Of course, if you’re not old enough yet, then you still have plenty of time to get the education and experience you need so that you’re ready for the next round of astronaut recruiting.
