Nike has unveiled a new shoe that is designed specifically for Native Americans.
The new Air Native N7 is constructed for the distinctive foot shape of the Native American community, according to Nike, and its design draws inspiration from Native American culture.
Nike researchers found that American Indians generally have a much wider and taller foot than the average shoe accommodates, according to the Associated Press. As a result, the Air Native is wider with a larger toe box.
The shoe’s design includes sunrise to sunset to sunrise patterns on the tongue and heel. It also has stars on the sole to represent the night sky, and feather designs on the inside, the Associated Press reported.
