A Florida student pitched a message in a bottle into the Atlantic Ocean back in April 2009. The bottle has been found on the coast of Ireland.
Corey Swearingen, 17 at the time he wrote the message, lived in Melbourne, Fla. A 17-year-old boy found the bottled message a continent away while on family vacation in a small Irish fishing village. The finder responded to the message, which “urged the reader to write with details of the bottle’s location.”
Swearingen is now a student at Florida Atlantic University.
