A German Shorthaired dog discovered an unconscious elderly man this week in Pine City, Minn., perhaps saving the man’s life.
Brett Grinde took Effie, the German Shorthaired, out for their regular walk on Monday evening. Within minutes, Effie began tugging on the leash and wanting to go a certain way. The dog then took off running to a neighbor’s house. There they found 94-year-old William Lepsch face down in his driveway. Grinde called 9-1-1 and began performing CPR.
Lepsch regained consciousness but is still hospitalized in serious condition.
