It’s been quite the journey for an elephant seal named Jackson, who recently finished an amazing 18,000 mile swim that started in southern Chile one year ago. The Wildlife Conservation Society was able to track Jackson, as he swam through fjords and coral reefs, by outfitting him with a small satellite transmitter in Tierra Del Fuego. Officials say that Jackson’s main objective during his epic adventure up and down the coast of South America to search for fish and squid. Talk about working for your food!
