A Californian won the Scripps National Spelling Bee on Thursday by correctly spelling the word “serrefine.”
Thirteen-year-old Evan O’Dorney of Danville, California won $35,000 cash, a $5,000 scholarship, a $2,500 savings bond and a set of reference works in the annual competition.
Serrefine is a noun describing small forceps.
that kid who won the spelling bee must have been a genius because it seemed like he got all the hardest words, & still spelled every one right, and he didn’t even like spelling!
I am amazed that a kid who HATES spelling won!? I feel sad for the kid in second place.
and the winner was a HOMESCHOOLER!!!!!!!
ALL that money for saying letters in a correct commonly known form?
I’m homeschooled!
