Paws for Poetry

petsApril marks the 13th anniversary of National Poetry Month. To help celebrate, young poets are encouraged to participate in the 2nd annual “Paws for Poetry” Contest. To enter, young people ages 7 to 12 are to write a poem to, and provide a photo of, their favorite animal friend.

Original poems of any length may be submitted in one of two categories: Group One (ages 7 to 9) and Group Two (ages 10 to 12). One grand prizewinner in each category will receive a prize package worth $50. Two runners-up in each category will receive a $25 gift package. The contest deadline is March 31, 2009.

  1. we had to do line poems in english class. i wish it could be any subject because i wrote a good one about scouting
