Look out where you step next time your at the beach.

The Hairy Frogfish is one of the fiercest, stealthiest creatures in the sea. This small fish is only about 9 inches long, but its wicked, extensible mouth allows it to swallow prey as large as itself.

Frogfish can change color depending on their environment, taking only a few weeks to adapt. But that color change makes it a mega-deadly hunter. The frogfish uses its first dorsal spine — called the illicium — like a fishing rod. Its tip has a worm-like “lure”  that attracts unsuspecting prey.

Take a look at the frogfish in action.
