A team of deep-ocean shipwreck experts has found a 70-year-old ship with around $200 million worth of silver inside.
The SS Gairsoppa, a British ship sunk 70 years ago during World War II, was recently discovered by a group of American explorers called Odyssey Marine Exploration.
But it won’t be easy to bring the riches to the surface. The wreck is located 300 miles off the coast of Ireland in the Atlantic Ocean, and it sits on the sea floor three miles underwater.
The crew plans to use robotic submarines next spring to bring up the ship’s valuable cargo.
