New studies show that an asteroid the size of Texas once clobbered Mars. This may have created the largest known impact ever in our solar system.
A depression known as Borealis Basin rests in Mars northern hemisphere. In this area, Mars outer crust is thinner than in other areas. Models recently put together by scientists conclude that an object 1,000 to 1,800 miles wide and traveling four to six miles per second pounded Mars in this northern area, creating the Borealis Basin.
This is really amazing!
hmmm if i could go into the past i could harness that power and take over the world muwhawhawhaw lol jk
Do they mean that big crater in the picture or the area around it?
