DVD pirates may want to watch out for Lucky and Flo. They are two black labrador dogs trained to sniff out DVDs that have been made illegally by detecting the chemicals used in the DVD making process.
They are the first animals to receive the outstanding service awards for finding discs stockpiled by pirates.
The canine duo led to 26 arrests and seizures of illegal discs worth over $6 million.
Lucky and Flo’s next stop on their crime-fighting tour is a visit to New York, followed by a trip to Toronto for an appearance at a film festival.
The Motion Picture Association estimates that copyright theft cost its members an annual worldwide loss of $6 billion.
