Sometimes it’s tough to picture just how humongous the world around us really is.
For example, did you know that New York City, the biggest city in the U.S., is only 24 square miles? For reference, the Grand Canyon is almost 2,000 square miles. You could stack three Empire State Buildings one on top of the other and still not reach the canyon rim at its deepest point.
That stark difference gave artist Gus Petro an idea for a new photography series called: Empty, an interesting look at what would happen if New York City were inside of the Grand Canyon. Take a look at the result for yourself:
Cool. New York City in the Grand Canyon… that would be a strange place for one of the world’s largest cities. Peechtival!
My goodness, I have never been to the gran canyon, but I had no idea it was THAT big. Sheesh
I think there would be a lot of problems if NY was in the Grand Canyon, you know, all the snakes, spiders, and stuff. All the venomous types.
That is cool. Isn’t Tokyo bigger than New York? Would Tokyo fit?
NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
EVEN THOUGH I NEVER LEARED THIS, I THINK IT WOULDN’T FIT AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WWWOOOWWW. It would be like,
Home: “It’s perfect outside!!! Not too hot, not too cold.”
Visitor: “No, it isn’t. It’s 110^F outside!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
That looks amazing. That would be such an awesome place to live in.Very creative.
