Wallet Returned

After 69 years, a wallet lost in Chicago has been returned to its rightful owner. Robert Bell, now 88, was attending a Navy vocational school in 1941 when he misplaced his wallet, which held his social security card and pictures of his future wife.

An electrician found the wallet in a school crawl space sometime during the 1960’s, and he tried unsuccessfully to return it. Then, in late 2009, an American Legion post, a U.S. congressman and the Social Security Administration got involved. They were able to track down Robert Bell and return the wallet he lost 69 years ago.
