A pickup stolen in 1972 in Los Angeles was returned to its rightful owner this week. Harold Voelker’s 1956 Ford F-100 had been sent to a couple living in Modesto, Calif., by family members in Texas. When the couple tried to register the vehicle, the California Highway Patrol noticed a discrepancy in the vehicle identification number. An investigation led to Harold Voelker.
In the 38 years since it was stolen, the truck had been painted a different color and the wheels had been replaced. Harold Voelker intends to keep his returned truck locked in his garage with a theft alarm installed.

Cool car (that took long enough to get it back).
