The remains of the actor who played Scotty on Star Trek were recovered in the mountains of New Mexico after a brief launch into space.
The ashes of James Doohan and about 200 others were in the payload of a rocket that was launched into space on April 28. After orbiting for a few minutes minutes, the rocket drifted back to earth. The rough terrain and bad weather prevented recovery of the cargo until Friday.
Cylinders containing the ashes will be mounted on plaques mentioning the space flight and given to the families.
