A skull of an ancient rodent that weighed one ton and was almost 10 feet long has been discovered along the coast of Uruguay in South America.
By comparing the size of the skull with the size of the skulls on existing rodents, paleontologists calculated that the huge rodent is probably the largest one ever discovered. They believe that it probably roamed the earth around two to four million years ago.
