Director of Avatar and Titanic, James Cameron, has successfully completed a historic dive to the deepest point on Earth earlier this week. Cameron voyaged for several hours in a tiny one-man mini submarine to the bottom of the Mariana Trench in the Pacific Ocean, more than 40 times larger than the Grand Canyon and almost 7 miles deep.
The video above was taken just after he emerged from his trip, and he discusses what it was like to dive so deep. His goal was to explore a part of the ocean that has never before been studied, and while he didn’t find any cool sea monsters, Cameron will be releasing a 3D movie documenting everything he saw later this year.
Sweet! Can’t wait to see it!
I agree.
