A crew of 20 climbers trudged to the top of Nepal’s Mount Everest this month to cleanup the trash that has accumulated during more than 50 years of expeditions. Empty oxygen tanks, ripped tents and broken ropes were among the items gathered up for disposal.
More than 4,000 climbers have topped Everest since 1953. Gear and trash are often left behind due to the difficulty of reaching the top.
Cool!
