Coins of Honor

Buy coins recognizing the Medal of Honor and its recipients. In 1861, President Abraham Lincoln signed legislation establishing the medal. Today, 150 years later, the U.S. Mint has created two coins that recognize this anniversary. The sale of these coins ends at the end of 2011.

Earlier this year, The Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation, the Boy Scouts of America and Boys’ Life partnered to honor Scout Jack Pape for his courage in helping others after a tornado struck Little Sioux Scout Ranch in 2008. A portion of profits from these coins will benefit outreach by the Foundation. Here are the details:

Proof Gold Coin, $454.95

Uncirculated Gold Coin, $444.95

Proof Silver Coin, $59.95

Uncirculated Silver Coin, $54.95
