Car radios change channels by themselves

Drivers in Des Moines, Iowa, don’t have to adjust their car’s radio dial because some stations are changing it for them.

What was orginally thought to be a problem with the car radio turns out to be a glitch with the signal.

Listeners of 93.3 FM and 102.5 FM noticed their radio station presets would sometimes refuse to stay on the right station. Drivers would find that when they pushed their preset button that was set to 93.3 FM it would stay for a second but then switch back to 102.5 FM by itself.

The cause of the problem; a new digital radio signal which tells drivers what song is playing and the artist.

Des Moines Radio Group, which owns both stations, said they are aware of the problem and will replace some equipment will have it fixed in a month or so.
