Will a Fidget Spinner Work In Space?

Astronaut Randy Bresnik isn’t just studying space on his current mission aboard the International Space Station. He’s also playing with a fidget spinner!

Well, not exactly.

Bresnik took some time out to study how one the spinners would work in space. The result: It works!

NASA says,  “Allowing the fidget spinner to float reduces the bearing friction by permitting the rate of the central ring and outer spinner to equalize, and the whole thing spins as a unit.”

We’re not sure how long it’ll spin, yet, but stay tuned for more.
