Ryan Nelson thought an alligator had wandered into his backyard in Grants Pass, Ore. Not quite, but it was a six-foot-long lizard known as a Nile monitor. Nile monitors are capable of killing pets and injuring humans.
While playing with his infant son, Nelson spotted the lizard near his rose bushes. He and his wife began making phone calls. Finally, an employee at MB Reptiles, a Grants Pass pet store, agreed to help corral the lizard.
This began a 90-minute chase around the Nelson’s backyard, which ended with the two men capturing the Nile monitor. It was taken to the pet store. The owner of the lizard later came forward to claim it.
hahahaha… too bad it wasn’t a komodo dragon!!!
That is a strange pet to keep in Oregon, where it can get pretty cold.
I wonder what it eats.
