A fisherman on the Swedish coast found a 12-foot Giant Oarfish floating dead in the water last weekend. The Giant Oarfish—also known as “King of the Herrings”— is the world’s largest bony fish, growing up to 36 feet and living in deep waters.
The last recorded encounter with the species came in 1879.
