Pizza Rescue

A pizza delivery driver for a Domino’s in Memphis, Tenn., saved one of her elderly regulars when that customer failed to call in her usual order.

Jean Wilson had ordered a large pizza every day for three years. When three days passed without Wilson placing an order, driver Susan Guy went to Wilson’s home to check on her. Guy called police after knocks at the door went unanswered. Police then knocked down the door and found that Wilson had fallen three days earlier and could not reach her phone.

Wilson was taken to the hospital and is now recovering.

As far as we know, Scouts have never used pizza to save a life. They did, however, cook up a 10-foot pie to help recruit new members once upon a time. Click here to read the story from the December 1964 issue of Boys’ Life.
