Original Superman

A copy of Action Comics No. 1 from 1938 — the first comic in which Superman ever appeared — sold Monday for $1.5 million on an online auction site. The identity of the buyer is unknown.

The same issue sold for $1 million last month, but this copy was in better condition. Action Comics No. 1 cost 10 cents when it first hit stores in 1938.

  1. If I was alive then, I would have bought HUNDREDS of those!!!!!!!!! Well, if I had enough money then!! 😀

    • Jman, if you were alive then, you’d only buy one because you wouldn’t be thinking 72 years into the future. And, one hundred of those would cost $1,000.

  2. i am a big comic fan so this isnt much news for me but does any one know if there are any more of those on auction?

  3. I’m a huge fan of comics. But selling a comic book for $1.5 million! I mean come on that’s stupid who would spend that much money for a comic

  4. I wish I had a copy. I have tons of old comics like Crisis On Infinite Earths and keep them in as good a condition as possible.
