The United Nations has added four new natural sites to its World Heritage List. Those sites are: Kenya’s Lake System, Japan’s Ogasawara Islands, Australia’s Ningaloo Coast and Jordan’s Wadi Rum Protected Area.
To be selected for the World Heritage List, sites must “be of outstanding universal value and meet at least one out of 10 selection criteria.” Click here to see a full list of Heritage sites and to read more about the criteria for selection.
