Moon Colony?

Scientists have discovered a deep hole on the moon’s surface that might make a perfect spot for a future colony. The enormous hole is located in the moon’s volcanic Marius Hills region. The hole is 213 feet wide and 260 feet deep.

Most importantly, a thin sheet of lava protects the hole from meteorite strikes and harsh temperatures. Classified as a “lava tube,” this hole was discovered by a Japanese moon orbiter called SELENE and appears to be stable.

  1. Sweet!! Maybe in, like 35 YEARS I will get to go stay on the moon! Unless my dream of becoming an astronaut gets fulfilled. 🙂

  2. I wonder could they make a pressurized dome with a door to send out ships for food and drinks. The first McDonalds on the moon. Hah!
