Monkey smuggled on airplane

A passenger on a Spirit Airlines flight managed to smuggle a monkey onto the plane under his hat.

After the furry little guy was discovered, the monkey spent the rest of the flight from Florida to New York in the man’s seat and was well-behaved.

Officials said the monkey business started in Lima, Peru, where the passenger originally boarded. They’re not sure how the man got his monkey through security.

The monkey has been put in quarantine by federal health officials for about a month. After that, if it’s healthy the monkey will go to a zoo.

The Spirit Airlines spokeswoman said they’re calling the little guy Spirit.

  1. That’s truly amazing. Either the security guys just didn’t notice, or the guy was just really really sneaky. I can’t believe that. (Hello Curious George).

  2. It makes sense that the monkey got on the plane in Peru. It could’ve never gotten through all the extra security measures that were started in the US since 9/11.
