It’s been 405 years since settlers established the first permanent English settlement at Jamestown, Va., in May 1607.
Jamestowne, as it was spelled in the 17th century, paved the way for numerous other English settlements and the eventual founding of the United States.
To mark the town’s 400th anniversary, there will be a number of celebrations and special exhibits during the weekend of May 11-13.
