A British adventurer named Lewis Gordon Pugh swam one kilometer across a glacial lake on Mount Everest. The 40-year-old braved the 36-degree Fahrenheit waters to highlight the melting of glaciers in the Himalayas.
Known as the “human polar bear,” Gordon wore only a swimsuit, goggles and a cap during his chilly dip in the lake.
