The world’s most expensive canine was bought recently for the sum of 10 million Chinese yuan — that’s about $1.5 million in U.S. dollars. The 11-month-old dog is a red Tibetan mastiff named “Big Splash.” This breed of dog typically fetches hundreds of thousands of dollars. Big Splash is described as “a perfect specimen” that will “be a good breeding dog.”
Your dog probably costs less, but you should take care of him (or her) just the same. Click here to check out a dog-care feature from the February 1947 issue of Boys’ Life.
