BSA 4th at Indy

Alex Lloyd drove the No. 19 Boy Scouts of America car to a fourth-place finish Sunday at the Indianapolis 500. After starting in the 26th position, Alex steadily moved up to earn the Dale Coyne Racing team its highest-ever Indy 500 finish.

The immediate results showed Alex even higher. He had passed Marco Andretti’s No. 26 car, which was clearly running out of fuel, on the front straight to take third place. But officials reviewed the data and determined that Marco had maintained an average speed strong enough to merit keeping the third spot, thus pushing Alex back to fourth in the official standings.

Dario Franchitti took the checkered flag.
