NASA’s new Ares I-X rocket went on its first successful test flight this week. Lifting off from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, the test rocket traveled 150 miles and reached an altitude of 150,000 feet before the booster stage splashed down in the Atlantic Ocean.
The Ares I-X test vehicle stands 327-feet tall and is designed to take NASA astronauts outside of Earth’s low orbit, to the Moon and beyond.
WOW! I’ve been waiting a long time for some thing to go into space!
Lets hope that this one doesnt burn up in the earths atmosphere on re-entry…
They canceled the Moon program!
